Scallops

Scallops – Patinopecten caurinus

Alaska Wild Scallops are prized for their size, sweet delicate flavor, and firm texture.

Alaska Wild Scallops are regarded as the world’s finest, and they are the largest and most impressive scallops in the world, with an average valve size of about 10 cm (4 inches). The great size of Alaska Scallops makes them a truly impressive dish for a variety of attractive plate presentations. Alaska Scallops feature a sweet, tender, buttery meat that is creamy in color and becomes white when cooked. Alaska Scallops are consistent in size and appearance, and in flavor, texture and freshness.

Alaska Wild Scallops are mainly harvested by a small fleet working historic scallop beds from the Eastern Gulf of Alaska near Yakutat to Alaska’s Bering Sea area.
